After reaching the semi-finals of Masterchef 2014, Theo resigned from his position as a Board Member of a PLC to follow his passion for food and has never looked back.


Theo was born in London and comes from a large Greek Cypriot family. He lived in America for five years and has eaten his way around most of the planet with a backpack. Theo now lives in Hertfordshire with his wife and three children.


He is passionate about healthy eating and is known for cooking ‘elegant village food’ inspired by his roots, travelling and global cuisine and his love of anything cooked over charcoal, creating innovative family friendly recipes that satisfy the reality of modern life.


Since Masterchef, Theo has spent the past six years honing his chef skills; he started running his own sell-out pop up restaurant in Hertfordshire cooking an 8-course tasting menu championing modern Greek cuisine inspired by his family. His private chef experience, creating exclusive dinner parties for private clients received recognition by The Financial Times and Telegraph in 2017. Both services won the regional ‘Best Lifestyle Service’ award  – (read his cooking reviews here).


Theo is the Executive Chef for Elsewhere Events, an international events company creating imaginative dining experiences for high profile events for both private and commercial clients (Amazon, Sony, Acast, Ikea, etc.) These are hosted at various locations including an 11th century Chateau in Provence, Tudor Manor House in Norfolk and their historic building in La Clusaz, France. Theo has also been a guest chef at the Sheraton Grande in Bangkok.


Media


Theo is regularly in the media; guest chef on ITV’s This Morning numerous times, a regular on BBC radio (BBC Radio London, BBC 3 Counties Radio, LGR, etc.) and he has also appeared on BBC Breakfast News, Sky TV and The Food Network amongst others.


More recently, he has received huge media coverage as the “UK’s home economist” during lockdown helping to keep kids busy hosting 36 live kids cookalongs over 12 weeks (3 a week) being one of the first chef’s to host live cookalongs. All recipes from his shows are in his Kids Lockdown Cookbook.


Theo is no stranger to food festivals either, demonstrating (and guest speaker) at National Geographic’s first food festival in London in July 2019 and has been invited back for their July 2021 show. Other festivals include Carfest North, St Albans Food Festival, amongst others. He is frequently called upon by the national press and media for comment and interviews on private dining, food and drink trends and recipe inspiration.


Author


Theo is a best-selling author specialising in Greek Cypriot Mediterranean food and family foscused recipes. He is a weekly food columnist for Best Magazine entering his third year.

Theo has written five cookbooks (not including his kids ebook). His most recent include; ‘Orexi! – feasting at the modern Greek table’ published by Ryland Peters & Small in April 2019, Orexi received rave reviews and gained huge press coverage (Delicious Magazine, The Saturday Times (twice), Food & Travel, National Geographic, etc.) and has been translated in 3 languages. ‘SHARE’ published in March 2020 featuring ten different themed sharing boards and over 80 recipes. His latest book ‘Rustica‘ based on traditional village food was published on 22nd September 2020 and received tremendous publicity.


Brands


Theo’s personable and approachable style has made him popular with brands looking to build connections with their consumers. He has worked with numerous food related brands; to include the David Lloyd Clubs developing recipes and demonstrating for their digital content. More recently, he was invited to join Kenwood as a brand ambassador for their products and to host live cookalongs for the Kenwood Kids Club.

His latest venture, FiveDinners.com a weekly on-line meal planning service has recently launched.
