Lynne Franks OBE has spent her long and successful career at the cutting edge of social trends, identifying and promoting them to the mainstream.

Since leaving her PR agency, she has spent the last two decades creating awareness of the need for a safe, sustainable and positive world for all, as well as dedicating herself to the essential call for women’s empowerment both in the UK and internationally.

Lynne has become an international spokesperson and facilitator on the changes in today’s and tomorrow’s world – both for the individual as well as society at large. She has written a number of influential books, including the seminal SEED Handbook, writes regularly for British national newspapers and magazines and currently presents her Frankly Speaking on-line Vlog on a wide range of subjects she finds amusing, serious and informative.

Using her personal insight and enthusiasm to spread the ‘news,’ together with her innate talent in spotting changes in taste and trends, she was a major influencer in the global fashion and beauty business for many years. She has worked with many of the world’s top designer talents, entrepreneurs, global corporations and innovative retailers, forging an impressive reputation as ‘the zeitgeist’, according to Vogue Magazine and she has positioned the UK as a world fashion leader by initiating London Fashion Week and the British Fashion Awards.

Lynne also initiated a wide diversity of awareness campaigns for social causes including the creation of Fashion Cares, taken over by Mac Cosmetics to become the world’s biggest fundraiser for HIV/Aids; working with Amnesty International on global awareness of human rights through music and collaborating with Bob Geldof on the production of Fashion Aid at the Albert Hall.

She chaired Viva, the UK’s first women’s radio station after selling her eponymous PR agency in the early 90’s and put on What Women Want, the major festival at the South Bank in ’95, stimulating dialogue on the situation of women in the UK and beyond.

Her books and workshops, including The SEED Handbook, published worldwide in 2000, pioneered a more feminine approach to business, combined with personal empowerment, inspiring thousands of women to join a movement of sustainable economic independence. Since establishing the SEED (Sustainable Enterprise and Empowerment Dynamics) a provider of women's learning and coaching programmes on economic empowerment and sustainable business practices, Lynne has championed women’s leadership from post-war Bosnia, to rural South African villages and for women in prisons to women in the corporate boardroom.

Lynne continues to identify, influence and promote the trends, values and choices that affect the way we live, work and connect, whether as baby boomers, millennials or something in between. She is regularly featured in and writes for many of the UK’s top publications, as well as frequently appearing in international media, television and radio, speaking on the subjects of social change, consumer patterns, corporate responsibility and women in business.

She is based in Somerset, where she has created an inspirational women’s led community hub, developing her Power of Seven & SEED workshops. She is also working on her latest book, The POD Effect, based on her work on community leadership, women and The Power of Seven.

Lynne was awarded an OBE for her services to business, fashion and women’s empowerment from the Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace in June 2018.
