Anthony Willoughby, a British eccentric, adventurer and successful entrepreneur who has spent many decades exploring life’s possibilities in some of the remotest and most inhospitable parts of the globe.

Anthony’s ‘I Will Not Complain’ philosophy and optimistic, proactive approach to life has evolved from misadventures and successes on his lightly planned journeys and expeditions which have included: Climbing Mustagh Ata, a 7,500 metre mountain in western China without porters or bottled oxygen and walking across Papua New Guinea with 24 bottles of wine, no food and a persistent complainer!

Brought up in Africa, vaguely schooled in the UK and US. At the age of 22 Anthony left England with a one way ticket on the Trans-Siberian Express to Japan in search of inspiration, adventure and opportunities almost fifty years later he is still on that journey of personal exploration.

Anthony’s talks provide amazing stories and photos from his lifetime of adventure and expeditions to Papua New Guinea, Mongolia, East Africa and many other countries.

Whether you are an executive looking for new and inspirational ways to lead yourself and your teams, an entrepreneur wishing to clarify that everyone is still on your map or an ambitious individual at a cross roads looking for fresh perspectives on life and leadership, Anthony provides entertaining and inspiring workshops about what he learnt from his misadventures and his conversations with indigenous leaders. He believes anyone can use his experiences and wisdom to adapt to some of the uncertainties we currently face.

Anthony has worked with leadership teams from global organisations such as Ferrari, Dyson, and Virgin as well as with successful individuals such as Bill Gates and Warren Buffett who joined one of his team building events at his ‘I Will Not Complain ‘training centre on The Great Wall of China. The Independent newspaper described Territory Mapping as a way “that enables you to crash through civilisation and see where you are and where you are going with new clarity.”

Anthony is currently working with schools and universities both in the UK and Internationally to encourage students to become Ambassadors for the further development and implementation of the Nomadic leadership Trust Wheel and to learn more about the concept of territory mapping. As we enter the post-Covid world, and what is sure to be the greatest period of global uncertainty and volatility since 1945, this has never been more important.

More recently Anthony has been riding on camels and horses with nomadic families and their herds of livestock through the Altai mountains of western Mongolia in -30c on their annual migrations from their winter to spring pastures.
