Kenya Wildlife Expedition 2018

John has just completed a 3 week expedition in the Mt Kenya, Nanyuki area in January 2018.

This involved community aid, wildlife studies and the use of horses to move through the lower reaches of Mt Kenya.

Colombia Amazonas Expedition

The vast department of Amazonas is home to some 17 distinct, mainly indigenous groups, who live much as their forebears did.  Many of these live in small villages on tributaries to the Amazon and need aid.  There are few places where life flourishes in such abundance.  Sloths move languidly in the high branches, small mammals scutter around in the undergrowth and sleek Jaguars prowl the forest.

A team of 24 visited the area in the period 10-30 May 2017 to catalogue the wildlife and give aid to the indigenous people.  Our team included a doctor, a dentist and zoologists as well as people interested in community aid work.

Speaking and Lecture Engagements - 2018

Stephen continues to entertain audiences with his highly successful talks which include ‘In the Steps of Eric Shipton’, ‘Ernest Shackleton’ and ‘Everest and Beyond’. 2018 marks Stephen’s 30th Anniversary accent of Everest.

Antartic Expedition - January 2018

Led by Stephen to climb, ski, sea kayak and watch wildlife, the Antarctic Expedition took place between 4 Jan to 1 Feb 2018 on Pelagic Australis. http://www.pelagic.co.uk/pdfs/2018_AntarcticaProspectus.pdf

If you are interested in taking part in the 2019 expedition, please contact Stephen as soon as possible to reserve a place on the next trip.

South Georgia Mountaineering Winter Expedition

Stephen has completed his seventh expedition to South Georgia.  In fact he completed two expeditions, back to back.  The first trip, aboard Pelagic Australis, was to the southern Salvesen Range, where he and Skip Novak led a team to make first ascents of peaks which Stephen first admired 26 years ago when he made the first ascent of Mt Carse. Then, Stephen and Caradoc Jones joined a grand-daughter and great-grandsons of Tom Crean, to follow in their ancestor’s footprints, 100 years after he made his legendary crossing of the Island with Frank Worsley and Ernest Shackleton.

Home Fires - Jambusters

Acclaimed British actresses Francesca Annis and Samantha Bond led an impressive ensemble cast for two highly successful series of this six-part drama  on ITV. Both series averaged consolidated viewing figures of over 6 million. Inspired by Julie Summer’s non-fiction book, ‘Jambusters’- the story of the Women's Institute in the Second World War, the drama followed a group of inspirational women in a rural Cheshire community with the shadow of war casting a dark cloud over their lives. The adaptation of ‘Jambusters’ into a period drama was created and written by 'Lewis' writer Simon Block.

The series has been sold to numerous territories around the world and Series 2 was recently released on the PBS Msterpiece channel in the USA. Both series are now available on Netflix.
